Challenger targets a mature, dynamic and demanding consumer looking for sport chic apparel that offers comfort as well as elegance.
The product is where Challenger focuses ongoing development and a craftsman’s attention to detail. The entire production chain, from weaving through cut, sewing and pressing, is located in the Modena industrial area, in Italy. The added value of products manufactured completely in Italy comes from the contribution of qualified partners, whose deep-rooted experience in the apparel sector means their work is of the finest standards.
Challenger quality is underpinned by top fabrics, preferably natural fibres like finest makò cotton.
All Challenger garments are a limited, numbered series and accompanied by certificates containing technical specifications.
Challenger ranges meet the needs of anyone who embraces all life’s pleasures and enjoys a more generous silhouette: sizes up to Italian 54 for women’s wear and XXXL for menswear collections.

1983 CHALLENGER IS BORN
Challenger was founded in 1983 by three young men.
One of the trio, Angelo Giovani, is the current owner.
REINVENTING THE SWEATSHIRT
The company decided to stake its future on the cotton fleece, which until then had been considered a "humble" product, working on colours, prints and embroidery.
These were the years of the "paninari" subculture and Challenger became a leading brand in this segment.
1987 ALBERTO TOMBA, AKA "TOMBA LA BOMBA", EXPLODED ONTO THE SCENE
A chance encounter between Angelo Giovani and the lawyer Stefano Leonardi, a member of the same club as Alberto Marchi, nickname "Paletta", led to a collaboration with Alberto Tomba.
"I've got this young guy who's going to be the greatest skier of all time", "Paletta" boasted to his clubmates, who listened sceptically.
For three seasons starting from 1987, Alberto, christened "Tomba la bomba" together with the other FISI athletes, took Challenger sweatshirts around the world with the Olympics, the World Cup...
2002 TRACKSUITS ... WITH STILETTO HEELS
In 2002 Challenger reinvented the tracksuit.
It was no longer just for jogging or leisure activities, but a sophisticated garment for travelling, going to the office or to school....retaining the comfort of a tracksuit.
Challenger suits were worn not just with tennis shoes and trainers, but with glamorous shoes too ... including stiletto heels.
This was thanks to superb quality natural fabrics (mako cotton) with shape retention, and the skill of our artisans: our apparel has always been made in Italy by skilled craftsmen.
HOLIDAY RESORTS ONLY
The "Made in Italy" label, coupled with superior quality and exclusive distribution, aroused the interest above all of retailers in holiday resorts, who were influenced by their dealings with international tourists.
This particular interest prompted us to limit distribution exclusively to holiday resorts.
A WINNING STRATEGY: 100% ITALIAN ARTISAN PRODUCTION.
While virtually everyone else was shifting production to developing countries, Challenger continued to produce exclusively in Italy, staking everything on tradition, culture, passion and the innate taste for beauty and style for which Italian craftsmen are renowned worldwide.
WHY BUY ITALIAN?
As well as the pleasure of wearing a garment of superb quality, buying Italian means safeguarding:
